Photographer Costică Acsinte

Born 4th of July, 1897 in a small village called Perieți, Ialomița County, România, Costică Acsinte fought in WWI. Despite his training as a pilot, he was an official war photographer till 15th of June, 1920.

Between 1920 and 1926, he collaborates with well known photographers from Bucharest from which he borrows photographic gear and materials.
1930 he opens a photography studio in the center of the town of Slobozia, called "Foto Splendid Acsinte", working until 1950 with glass plates as photographic support (mostly gelatine silver Agfa plates). Later he switched to sheet film and 35mm and 120mm film.
1960 was the year of his retirement, his photography studio being demolished shortly after. After 1960, Costică Acsinte continues to photograph in the neighboring villages of Slobozia, especially in the village ofGrivița, travelling usually by bicycle.
 
He dies on January 7, 1984.
