La véritable Cape de Berger

No need to point out the relationship between Pyrenean shepherds and berets, they're inseparable, really. But there is also the "véritable cape de Berger", or the shepherds cape.
The shepherd’s  cape has been worn  in the Pyrenees for two millennia, from the Romans who came to take the waters at Vicus Acquensis (Bagneres de Bigorre)  to the present day.
These  capes are made entirely in the Pyrenees with a unique homespun fabric manufactured in Ariege, Cutting and assembly are carried out in workshops in Bagneres-de-Bigorre in the Hautes-Pyrénées. It takes six hours for cutting, assembling and finishing a cape Berger.
The average weight of these capes is 2.5kg – solid felted wool, quite similar to that of your beret.
