A native of the mountains of Burgundy, Henri Vincenot (1912
- 1985) was a poet, painter and the author of numerous works of history and fiction, for which he
won the Bourse Goncourt, the Prix Lamartine, the Prix Chatrain, the Prix
Olivier de Serres, and other literary awards.
Henri Vincenot was one of the most famous inhabitants of the
château Commarin in Dijon, France, built between 1620 and 1711. Vincenot lived,
died, and wrote numerous books within its grounds.
