Sigurd Skou was born in Norway, and studied in Stockholm and Paris.

Throughout his career, he was a traveler and lived the artist's life, staying in artistic circles in New York, France and Chicago. When he came to New York around 1919 he began a very lucrative career teaching at the Grand Central Art Gallery of Club and National Academy of Design. |
