Since 1994, Jean Lacugue, a trained oenologist and winemaker, has been cultivating the vines of the family estate, Château de Milhau-Lacugue. He is the guardian of a rich historical past and an important wine-growing heritage in the commune of Puisserguier.
For nearly 900 years now, the exploitation of the vine has found its place in the middle of this countryside between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean Sea.
Aware and attentive to current climate and weather changes
and the need for humans to adapt their crops, he has chosen to plant local
grape varieties in his vineyard or those suited to these new natural
conditions. Jean Lacugue produces AOP Saint-Chinian red wines with finesse,
elegance, fruit and character. He also offers, only in the best vintages, an
AOP Saint-Chinian Blanc white wine, the Mia cuvée, produced from a blend of
Grenache Blanc and Roussanne.
