Sheep Bathing in Mőcsény

After 1948, the socialist reorganization of agriculture began in Hungary, the forced nationalization of peasant-owned farms. 

Large agricultural enterprises, or production cooperatives, were established in these areas. Between 1949 and the beginning of 1953, the state took over 193 thousand farms. Due to collectivization and the unrealistic public burdens on the peasantry, they left the agricultural sector en masse.
