France’s oldest beret manufacturer, Laulhère, has opened its
first specialized beret shop in Paris last Sunday.
The Paris Boutique is located in the chic “Golden Triangle”
on the rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, only 400 meters from the Élysée.
The location caters for a domestic and international
clientele and they are sure to get an unique experience. The 100m2 store is
built in concrete and wood, referring to the beret’s origin in the Béarn.
More
shops in Tokyo and the US are in the planning.
This is part of Laulhère's strategy to put the beret (back) in the
heart of fashion, particularly on the catwalks of Fashion Week around the world.
Definitely on my list for my next visit to Paris!
ReplyDelete... but then, I hope this strategy works out for them. It might be a high risk. You need to sell a lot of 70 Euro caps to pay the rent in those places. Let's hope the company doesn't get broke by flying too high!

Ah, but there's the catch many of the berets sold in this boutique are well into multiple 100's of euros - not your average Basque beret!
