The Brotherhood of "Lo Gardarem Berret" was established on 1 November 1994 at the initiative of Daniel Fongaro, its chairman and Yvan Verhnes, his great master.
The Brotherhood advocates the wearing of the beret and organizes many festivals with neighboring departments Basque Landais, Chti etc. and "Lo Gardarem Berret" is now well known beyond the department of Bearn.

The members are particularly committed to the preservation of local traditions such as traditional threshing, the Occitan dialect cassipontine and good cheer. All this in a festive and friendly atmosphere that never lets up in gloom.
