Ramón Masats (1931) is a Spanish (Catalan) photographer.
He became a photojournalist in 1953 and started working
on Las Ramblas in Barcelona .
The following year, he joined the Royal Photographic Society of Catalonia. He
met Terré Ricard and Xavier Miserachs .
In 1957, he moved to Madrid
and travelled through Spain
as a reporter for the magazine Gaceta Ilustrada.
Ramon Masats took this photograph in Valladolid, in 1962.
That same year, he returned to the group AFAL and joined
photographers like Gabriel Cuallado, Gerardo Vielva and Paco Gómez and creates
the group Palangana .
Between 1958 and 1964, he worked for various magazines
and journals such as Gaceta Ilustrada, Mundo Hispanico, Arriba and Ya.
In 1964, he directed his first documentary, Prado Museum
Vivo, which earned him a special prize, Tahormina.
