Basques in New York

New York has long held a sizable community of Basques, immigrants from both the French and Spanish side of the Pyrenees.

On the website of the NY Basque Club there are some beautiful photos of social and historic events of the community.
What I liked most is this article in the New York Times (1911), on the difficulties US officials had to make sense of the Basque tongue.
