Johannes Norbertus Buning (Amsterdam, June 19, 1893 - April 26, 1963) was a Dutch painter.
The Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and Museum Henriette Polak in Zutphen (Netherlands) have included Johan Buning's works in their collection.

After the death of his wife Titia Buning-Brongers in 1961, Johan Buning founded a foundation in memory of his wife. This foundation, which has been called the Buning Brongers Foundation, awards the Buning Brongers Prizes for young promising painters every two years.
