Australian Mina Maeda started her search for a simple wide-brimmed straw hat over a decade ago.

In Kasukabe, Japan, she found a 5th generation family factory with a dedication to weaving straw hats for 140 years.

Maeda started designing her own hats to have these made in Kasukabe; where there is a long history of growing natural wheat straw and producing straw hats.
She now sells woven straw berets under her own Grosgrain label.
