Black Beret in Copşa Mică
I found this 1991 photograph (by James Nachtwey) in an old National Geographic.
While the citizens of Copşa Mică (Romania) labor in plants that produce carbon black for tires, a community shepherd (with black beret) leads their sheep to pasture. Carbon black rains continually from the factories, coating houses, streets and sheep which graze on carbon coated grass.
