Ted Veltfort was an ambulance driver in Spain during the Civil War.
He received a degree in advanced physics after the war, but he was blacklisted. In 1960 his family fled to Cuba, where he taught physics. In the 1980s he helped the Nicaraguan Sandanista government set up a television network.
