Publicist, writer, scientist and teacher Oleg K. Romanchuk carried out a thorough analysis of the reasons for Ukraine’s victories and defeats, successes and failures.
His new book "Don't be afraid. Don't betray. Do not be silent" carries the clarifying title: "Wartime Journalism. Selected texts 2014–2019: articles, essays".
Rudolf Mykolayovych Lekalov (1933 - 2021 ) was a Ukrainian graphic artist and journalist.
Lekalov studies at the Leningrad Arts School. Lekalov is called the Willow Artist, as he created so many drawings of this trees. The famous critic, writer Volodymyr Dyachkov recorded this in the title of his essay about the Lekalov: "Anxieties of the Heart in a blaze of willows".
The poetess Tamara Severnyuk titled her story about the Lekalov "Willow Flights of Years", while the writer Giorgii Shevchenko dedicated to him the poem "Willow blizzard", which contains the following lines:
These willows have sprouted into the heart.
And they dry their clothes on the willow tree, like
ambassadors of unknown and pure Lands,
Lands of love and goodness.
Oles Buzina (1969 - 2015) was a Ukrainian teacher of Russian, a writer and a journalist. He was known for his criticism of Ukrainian politics and for the support of closer ties of Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia.
Buzina held anti-Orange Revolution and anti-Euromaidan views. Buzina was found shot on 16 April 2015 near his home. Previously, he said on a Russian TV show that he was receiving constant death threats.
Volodymyr Ivanovich Luchuk (1934 - 1992) was a Ukrainian writer, the husband of writer Oksana Senatovych, father of writer Ivan and Sumerologist Taras Luchukiv.
Volodymyr Luchuk is the forerunner and representative of the "Sixties" in Ukrainian poetry.
Leon Gautier, the last surviving French D-day commando, died last Monday. He was 100 years old.
Gautier was one of 177 green berets in the Kieffer unit which stormed the Normandy beaches on 6 June 1944.

Gautier was one of 177 French green berets who stormed the Normandy beaches defended by Hitler’s forces in 1944.
Last month, Gautier presented a student marine commando with his green beret at a passing-out parade at Colleville-Montgomery, near the spot where he had landed on Sword Beach in a hail of enemy fire at the age of 21.
In
a poignant moment during that ceremony, the young marine knelt on one knee to
allow Gautier to straighten his beret.

22 teams are scheduled to take part in the race. All 18 UCI WorldTeams have been automatically invited. They were joined by 4 UCI ProTeams: the two highest placed UCI ProTeams in 2022 (Lotto–Dstny and Team TotalEnergies), along with Uno-X Pro Cycling Team and Israel–Premier Tech who were selected by Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO), the organisers of the Tour. The teams were announced on 4 January 2023.

In January 2022, Amaury Sport Organisation announced that the Basque Country in Spain would host the Grand Départ. It was the second time that the Basque Country hosted the Tour's start, following the 1992 edition.
In October 2022, the full route was announced by Christian Prudhomme. The Tour will return to the Puy de Dôme for the first time since 1988. The route includes only 22.4 kilometres (13.9 mi) of time trial, the least since the 2015 edition.
The 22 teams received a loud reception on their parade in downtown Bilbao. Starting in front of the landmark Guggenheim Museum with the tension tangible as riders warmed up beneath low hanging black clouds with the peculiar hills straddling the horizon.

Born Julia Ilse Hendrike Irmgard von Stein Liebenstein zu Bachfeld in 1928 in Munich, she spent her childhood in Berlin, where her father was an army officer. She attended drama school in Vienna. After the war, she married Desmond Arnall, a British Army officer who had been posted to Berlin. In 1950, she came to Britain with her husband and her young son.
She started her life as a model before becoming an actress with the Rank Organisation. She appeared in small parts in a few films before starring in the 1956 film Lost. After departing Rank, she continued acting, appearing in a few episodes of television shows, including The Saint and Emergency – Ward 10.
In 1956 she and Arnall divorced. In 1960 she married a film, television, and jazz critic, with whom she had a daughter.

Serhiy Baturyn (1960) is a Ukrainian writer, author of novels and short stories, poems and the journalistic chronicle "Ukrainian Slaves of the Third Reich ", laureate of a number of literary prizes.
Baturyn graduated from the philological faculty of the Kyiv State Pedagogical Institute named after O. M. Gorky, in 1981. He worked as a teacher in Kyiv and served in the ranks of the Armed Forces.
From 2007 to 2012, he was the secretary of the Kyiv organization of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine. Baturin's main interest is history, possibly the reason to predict real events in his novels.
Ma Zhongxin was born in Lanzhou, China, and grew up in
Taiwan.
After meeting a traveller in his thirties, he started travelling in his imagination. From being a backpacker for the first time at the age of 39 and traveling around the world, simple travel has become his life and career, and always wearing his trademark beret.
Since then, in the simplest way, relying on his own feet, he has walked on steep mountains, deep jungles, and deserts of gravel. He even served as an expedition team member to explore Antarctica.
After seeing the most desolate and magnificent, and experiencing the most dangerous and solitary, Ma Zhongxin not only broadened his vision and mind, but also had a different understanding of life. He began to speak, write, and take pictures, recording ordinary people.
Ma Zhongxin, now 81, frequently gives lectures on his travels and photography at universities.
