Fête Nationale Française

The Bastille Day military parade commemorates the storming of the Bastile prison in 1798 which heralded the overthrow of the monarchy and the establishment of a French Republic.

(Many bereted) Communist demonstrators break fences apart to obtain material for clubs and other weapons useful in their attempt to disrupt France's traditional Bastille Day celebration in 1953. At least seven persons were killed and 130 injured in the clashes that arose in Paris.
